Requirements:

Applicants must have a four (4) year Degree (NQF Level 8) in Natural or Environmental Management/Sciences or a related qualification, along with at least six (6) years of relevant post-qualification experience.

Essential knowledge and competencies include:

• Sound understanding of the National Environmental Management: Air Quality Act

• Knowledge of atmospheric emission licence (AEL) regulatory requirements, processes, and procedures

• Familiarity with industrial processes and emission abatement technologies

• Insight into Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) procedures

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and client service orientation

• Leadership, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills

Duties:

• Manage and process atmospheric emission licence (AEL) applications within prescribed timeframes

• Review compliance reports for provisional and issued AELs for operational facilities

• Evaluate Environmental Impact Assessment reports in line with time-bound requirements

• Oversee emissions reporting obligations of departmental AEL facilities

• Participate in compliance and enforcement activities related to licensed facilities
