The Role
As a Systems Administrator – Control-M, your core responsibilities will include:

Maintaining, implementing, and ensuring the quality of Control-M batch schedules across FirstRand’s distributed platforms.

Performing Quality Assurance (QA) on Control-M deployments to verify:
-
Compliance with naming conventions and standards.
-
Correct job dependencies, calendars, and resource usage.
-
Proper error handling, notifications, and recovery processes.
-
Production readiness of job definitions.
-

Setting up new and maintaining existing batch schedules for various application teams.
-
Providing expert batch scheduling support and consultancy to developers and FirstRand teams.

Managing batch schedules during release windows and coordinating with relevant teams.

Troubleshooting and resolving scheduling issues to ensure optimal performance.

Documenting QA findings and collaborating on governance and configuration improvements.
Requirements
To thrive in this role, you should have:

Minimum 2 years IT experience with a focus on Control-M batch scheduling.

Proven experience in distributed Control-M environments.

Familiarity with QA processes, deployment validation, and review procedures.

Exposure to Linux server environments is advantageous.

Strong knowledge of Control-M/Enterprise Manager batch alerts and their impacts.

Proficiency in MS Office and ServiceNow (SNOW).

Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal.

Willingness and ability to work standby shifts regularly.

Own transport available for 24/7 callouts and travel between FirstRand campuses.
