Position: Accounts Receivable Manager (Contract)

Takealot.com, South Africa’s top online retailer, is hiring a Contract Accounts Receivable (AR) Manager to join the Finance Team in Cape Town.

The Role

As the Accounts Receivable Manager, you will lead the AR team and drive improvements in billing, collections, and reporting processes. You’ll work closely with the Finance Manager and be responsible for ensuring that cash collection is smooth, accurate, and aligned with business goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Improve and optimize AR processes

• Manage customer account reviews and collections

• Monitor and report on cash collections daily, weekly, and monthly

• Lead month-end AR close and reporting

• Develop and guide the AR team

• Manage invoicing automation tools

• Oversee intercompany recharge processes

• Support internal and external audits

• Assist with budgeting and forecasting

• Lead regular check-ins with stakeholders and other departments

Requirements

Qualifications

• BCom degree or equivalent in Finance/Accounting

Experience

• 3+ years in credit management or accounts receivable

• Strong MS Excel skills (Advanced level)

• Experience with credit vetting systems (e.g. TransUnion, CGIC)

• Familiarity with SAGE Evolution is an advantage
