The Role
The Researcher: Parliamentary and Constitutional Affairs is responsible for delivering strategic, high-quality research support to Members of Parliament and Committees. This includes support for oversight, law-making, and public and international participation functions. The incumbent will also provide specialised research and analytical services to Senior Management. A key aspect of this role is supporting the Constitutional Review Committee and engaging with national, continental, and international issues related to parliamentary and constitutional affairs.
Requirements
Minimum Educational Qualifications:

Matric (Senior Certificate)
-
Honours Degree (NQF Level 8) in one of the following or a related field:

Public Service and Administration
-
Political Science
-
Legal Studies
-
Constitutional Law
-
Public Law
-
Experience:
-
Minimum of three (3) years’ relevant applied research experience in a parliamentary, legal, or public policy context, particularly focused on constitutional matters or institutional governance.
Knowledge and Skills:
-
Deep understanding of parliamentary structures, systems, and procedures
-
Knowledge of constitutional frameworks and national policy frameworks

Familiarity with continental and international parliamentary institutions and trends

Strong knowledge of public law and legal-political research methodologies

Experience supporting parliamentary committees, particularly those dealing with constitutional issues

Proficient in qualitative and policy-based research methodologies
-
Advanced writing, analytical, and verbal communication skills

Ability to compile and present complex information clearly and objectively

Capacity to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
