The Role

The NRF is seeking highly skilled professionals to join its multidisciplinary teams across key institutions in Pretoria and Cape Town. Each role plays a critical function in advancing the NRF’s mission of supporting and promoting research and human capital development through funding, facilities, and science engagement.

General Eligibility

• Must be legally eligible to work in South Africa.

• A relevant tertiary qualification is required (Bachelor’s, Honours, or Master’s depending on role).

• For senior roles (e.g., Managing Director, Head, Manager), a postgraduate qualification and extensive leadership experience in the relevant field are essential.

• For technical roles (e.g., Cyclotron Operator, Electronics Technician), specialised certifications, training, or technical diplomas are required.

• Proven track record of experience in the specific domain (minimum years vary by role).

Core Competencies

• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.

• Familiarity with the NRF’s mandate, research funding landscape, or scientific operations is an advantage.
