FAW South Africa is hiring a Diesel Technician in Cape Town. The successful candidate will support the Workshop Foreman, manage repairs and breakdowns, and maintain high service standards in the workshop. This position requires strong technical expertise, responsibility, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist Workshop Foreman and maintain good internal relationships.

• Complete all tasks professionally and efficiently.

• Accurately record hours worked, lubricants, parts, and consumables on job cards.

• Follow management processes and workshop systems.

• Support and mentor apprentices, ensuring proper skills transfer.

• Ensure good communication with parts department and customers.

• Participate in training and share new skills with team.

• Attend vehicle breakdowns professionally and wear proper PPE.

• Maintain cleanliness of assigned vehicle and workspace.

• Correctly diagnose warranty claims (Complaint, Cause, Correction).

• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and Labour regulations.

Requirements:

• Matric (Grade 12)

• Diesel Trade Test (Completed)

• Code 14 Driver’s License with PDP

• 2–3 years experience in a similar role

• Strong technical skills and mechanical understanding

• Good communication and teamwork skills

• Willingness to learn and follow procedures
