Vodacom, South Africa’s number 1 Top Employer (2024 certified), is hiring a VAS Specialist to support and maintain Value Added Services systems. You will work with multiple teams to ensure optimal system performance, lead projects, and improve customer service. This role involves managing Linux servers, VAS gateways, and network systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance on load balancers, middleware, authentication systems, and APIs.

• Support customer care and ASOC teams with technical issues.

• Manage and optimize systems, databases, and applications.

• Coordinate and execute technical projects.

• Handle incident, problem, change, and configuration management.

• Maintain documentation and follow ISO quality procedures.

• Work closely with internal teams and external vendors.

• Participate in disaster recovery planning and implementation.

• Engage in system upgrades, testing, and monitoring.

• Provide after-hours standby support and overtime as needed.

Requirements:

• 3-year Degree or National Diploma in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

• 3–5 years experience managing Linux servers and related applications.

• Experience with GSM, Oracle, and networking technologies.

• Experience with VAS Gateway systems such as WebLogic and WAP Gateway.

• Knowledge of 3GPP protocols.

• Skilled in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

• Experience with Proxy and Load Balancers.

• Strong teamwork and leadership skills.
