Position: Junior IT Business Analyst
Location: Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa (On-site)

We’re looking for a Junior IT Business Analyst to help support the design and delivery of business solutions that improve operations and unlock strategic opportunities. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career who wants to grow in a fast-paced retail environment.

You’ll work closely with senior Business Analysts and Portfolio Managers to gather requirements, document processes, support testing, and ensure IT solutions meet business goals.

The Role

As a Junior Business Analyst, you will:

Strategy Support

• Help analyse current processes and systems

• Assist in planning future improvements

• Identify risks and contribute to change strategies

• Stay updated with tech and industry trends

Planning & Stakeholder Engagement

• Help define the BA approach and ensure process improvements

• Support stakeholder analysis and engagement planning

• Assist in planning how best to work with key stakeholders

Requirements Gathering & Collaboration

• Organise and run requirement-gathering sessions

• Document and validate business needs with stakeholders

• Help translate business needs into clear documentation

Requirements & Solution Design

• Support the modelling of requirements at the right level of detail

• Assist in comparing and recommending solutions based on business value

Requirements Management

• Track and manage requirements through the project lifecycle

• Prioritize tasks based on urgency and business impact

• Help assess change requests and maintain updated documentation

Solution Evaluation

• Support the measurement of solution performance

• Identify gaps or issues in the delivered solution

• Recommend improvements to increase value

Requirements

• IT Degree, Diploma, or 2 years of IT experience

• 1–2 years of experience working in a Business Analyst role or on BA-related tasks

• ECBA (Entry Certificate in Business Analysis) certification is an advantage

• Understanding and application of BABOK principles (Business Analysis Body of Knowledge)

• Practical experience in at least 4 key BA areas (e.g., requirements gathering, analysis, testing support, solution evaluation)

• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)

• Experience in Financial Services is a plus
