Job Description
LAW FOR ALL is seeking a driven and experienced Legal Professional to provide high-quality legal advice and services to policyholders. The role involves informal mediation, legal drafting, negotiation, and consultations to help resolve matters amicably and efficiently. You will be responsible for a variety of case types including criminal, civil, family, labour, and commercial law.
This role is a blend of legal expertise, client engagement, and administrative precision, supporting both our Cape Town and Pretoria offices.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct client consultations (in person and telephonically) and gather clear, comprehensive instructions.

Provide immediate legal advice and product-related guidance.

Manage a variety of legal files including criminal, civil, family, labour, and commercial matters.

Draft legal correspondence including warning letters, referrals, lease agreements, letters of demand, and contracts.

Respond to legal notices and correspondence on behalf of clients.

Maintain accurate, up-to-date case files in accordance with the legal services manual.

Provide regular feedback to clients, ensuring they are informed at least twice monthly or as required by the case.

Interpret laws and legal matters for clients in a clear and understandable way.

Mediate legal issues and draft settlement agreements or basic legal contracts and wills.

Assess legal merits of cases to determine litigation qualification.

Coordinate referrals to panel attorneys and manage their invoicing and related admin.

Ensure compliance with policy exclusions, rejection procedures, and legal documentation protocols.

Follow departmental policies, procedures, and adhere to diarising and callback systems.
Minimum Requirements

LLB degree (admission as an attorney or advocate is advantageous)

High level of legal knowledge across multiple areas of law

Ability to speak, write, and understand at least two official African languages

Computer literacy and excellent communication skills

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Strong drafting and documentation skills

Ability to interpret and apply legal knowledge to practical client scenarios
