The Role
The Tshwane Metro Police Department invites committed, young, and energetic individuals to apply for the position of Metro Police Trainee. Successful candidates will undergo the Metro Policing Training Programme and, upon completion, will serve as fully functional Metro Police Officers. The role involves enforcing traffic laws, municipal by-laws, and participating in crime prevention efforts within the City of Tshwane.
Key Responsibilities
Metro Police Officers will be responsible for:

Enforcing the National Road Traffic Act, 1996 (Act 93 of 1996)

Policing municipal by-laws and regulations
-
Engaging in crime prevention activities
-
Participating in community safety and awareness programs
Requirements
Applicants must meet all of the following minimum requirements:
-
Grade 12 (Matric) qualification – attach certified documentary proof
-
Valid manual transmission driving license – applicants will undergo a departmental driving test
-
No criminal record or pending cases – fingerprints will be taken at own cost
-
Must not be listed on the sexual or child offenders register
-
Must not have been dismissed for misconduct from any government department
-
South African citizen and resident of Tshwane – proof of residence and affidavit if surname differs from that of registered property owner
-
Age between 18 and 35 years
-
Medically fit – submit a valid medical certificate confirming fitness for strenuous physical activity
-
Must pass a physical fitness evaluation and assessment
-
Must undergo and pass a psychometric assessment
-
Must be proficient in English – written and verbal, and pass an assessment
-
No firearm incompetency declaration under Sections 102, 103 or 104 of the Firearms Control Act, 2000
-
No visible tattoos when wearing the TMPD uniform

Willingness to sign and abide by the TMPD Code of Conduct
