Steyn City School, located within the stunning Steyn City Parkland Residence in Johannesburg, offers independent, co-educational learning from Grade 000 to Grade 12. We are seeking an enthusiastic Intern to join our Early Years Centre team from 1 January 2026.

The Role
We are looking for a dynamic, innovative, and dedicated Early Childhood Intern who is either currently studying towards a B.Ed or PGCE, or has recently completed their qualification. The intern will gain hands-on experience in a vibrant early childhood environment and be involved in all aspects of school life.
Key Responsibilities

Support classroom teaching and learning in the Early Years Centre.

Work closely with experienced educators and contribute to child-centred activities.

Assist with the preparation of learning materials and classroom organisation.

Participate in school events and the broader school community.

Demonstrate initiative, creativity, and a proactive approach to learning and teaching.
Requirements

Studying towards or completed a B.Ed or PGCE (Foundation Phase or Early Childhood).

A genuine love for working with young children.

Creative, energetic, and enthusiastic.

Willingness to learn and contribute to a professional teaching team.

SACE registration or willingness to register is advantageous.

Must comply with all child safeguarding regulations (sexual offender clearance and Child Protection Register clearance required).
