Clifton School is an independent school for boys located in Morningside, Durban, offering education from Grade 00 to Grade 12. We are seeking a passionate and qualified Senior Preparatory Teacher to join our team from Term 1, 2026.

The Role
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Primary Teacher who will inspire and support young learners in the intermediate (Intersen) phase. This position may include additional responsibilities, such as grade or subject leadership, for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver a broad range of academic subjects with confidence and clarity.

• Teach in alignment with the curriculum, with the ability to teach Mathematics being a strong advantage.

• Actively contribute to Clifton’s vibrant co-curricular and sports programmes.

• Provide pastoral care and demonstrate a genuine commitment to holistic education.

• Collaborate effectively with colleagues and parents to support student development.

• Support and participate in the broader life and values of the school community.

Requirements

• A relevant teaching degree and professional teaching qualification.

• Registration with SACE (South African Council for Educators).

• Previous experience in independent schooling is advantageous but not essential.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• A child-centred teaching philosophy and a passion for lifelong learning.
