Requirements:
Applicants must have a four (4) year Degree (NQF Level 8) in Natural or Environmental Management/Sciences or a related qualification, along with at least six (6) years of relevant post-qualification experience.
Essential knowledge and competencies include:

Sound understanding of the National Environmental Management: Air Quality Act

Knowledge of atmospheric emission licence (AEL) regulatory requirements, processes, and procedures

Familiarity with industrial processes and emission abatement technologies

Insight into Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) procedures

Duties:

Manage and process atmospheric emission licence (AEL) applications within prescribed timeframes

Review compliance reports for provisional and issued AELs for operational facilities
-
Evaluate Environmental Impact Assessment reports in line with time-bound requirements
-
Oversee emissions reporting obligations of departmental AEL facilities
-
Participate in compliance and enforcement activities related to licensed facilities
