The Role
The SAP Functional Consultant is responsible for scoping, configuring, implementing, and supporting SAP solutions that meet client requirements. This includes participating in the design, documentation, testing, and deployment of solutions while ensuring timely, high-quality delivery in line with project scope, budget, and service-level agreements (SLAs).
You will also support knowledge sharing, create reusable solutions, and contribute to business development by identifying new opportunities within the SAP ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities

Participate in the scoping, design, and implementation of SAP solutions

Ensure delivery of projects is on time, within budget, and aligned with client expectations

Meet or exceed agreed service levels and quality standards

Analyse business requirements and design fit-for-purpose SAP solutions

Conduct feasibility analysis and research to identify opportunities for SAP-based business improvements

Identify, escalate, and mitigate risks impacting performance or delivery

Ensure documentation, testing plans, and project artefacts are completed and stored appropriately

Drive continuous improvement through reusable components and defect-free solution delivery

Provide knowledge transfer and training to team members and clients as needed

Maintain accurate timesheets and ensure billable hours meet target expectations

Create and store configuration documents and processes in the knowledge management system
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications

NQF Level 6: 3-year Degree/National Diploma

OR NQF Level 4 (Grade 12) with additional relevant experience
Experience
-
With Qualification (NQF 6): Minimum 3 years of SAP implementation or support experience

With Grade 12 only: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
