The Role
Investec is seeking a Senior Project Manager within the Private Bank Technology division based in Sandton. This role is responsible for planning, managing, and leading the delivery of multiple business, strategic, and technical projects aligned with the bank’s project management and IT governance frameworks.

You will be accountable for the end-to-end delivery of project outcomes—ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and on budget. This includes risk and issue management, stakeholder engagement, and progress reporting. The role plays a key part in developing change delivery processes and capabilities within the Private Bank.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the delivery of multiple high-impact projects within Private Bank

• Deliver projects using the PB Change Delivery Life Cycle (CDLC) and aligned to Investec's governance standards

• Drive successful outcomes within the approved time, scope, and budget

• Manage day-to-day project activities including scope definition, scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, and quality control

• Provide regular progress and status updates to stakeholders

• Identify, report, and manage project risks, issues, and changes

• Balance competing priorities (scope, time, cost, quality, and risk)

• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders

• Contribute to continuous improvement of the PB Change Delivery team and methodology

Requirements

• Proven experience delivering projects in the banking sector, particularly in:

  • Forex, trading, and cross-border payments

  • Knowledge of foreign exchange regulatory frameworks

• Strong grasp of structured project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, PMBOK)

• Proficiency in Agile or Lean project management approaches

• Demonstrated success in delivering technology and cloud-based projects

• Exposure to service management principles and IT delivery lifecycle

• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills

• Highly organized, self-motivated, and results-oriented
