Job Description
IQbusiness is seeking an experienced Systems Analyst to consult with one of our key clients in the Banking industry. This role requires a deep understanding of both business processes and technical systems. You’ll play a key part in ensuring IT system design aligns with business needs through your strong analytical background and hands-on project delivery experience.
This is a hybrid role, with 3–4 days per week onsite in Stellenbosch, Western Cape.
The Role
Key Responsibilities
Requirements Gathering & Analysis

Lead the collection and documentation of business and technical requirements
-
Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and cost-benefit analyses
System Design & Development
-
Translate business needs into functional and technical specifications
-
Design solutions including architecture, process flows, and models
-
Collaborate closely with developers to implement system solutions
Implementation & Quality Assurance
-
Liaise with developers, IT teams, and vendors to ensure accurate delivery
-
Support system testing, UAT, validation, and deployment
-
Maintain high standards of quality assurance throughout the lifecycle
Maintenance & Continuous Improvement
-
Provide expert-level support for existing systems
-
Identify and implement system improvements and updates proactively
Documentation & Training

Create user manuals, technical documentation, and process diagrams

Train end-users and provide advanced system support
Requirements
Experience & Skills
-
5–8 years in a Systems Analyst or similar role
-
Strong experience with:
-
Requirements gathering, business analysis, and stakeholder engagement
-
System design methodologies and process modelling
-
SDLC and Agile frameworks
-
Cloud environments, especially AWS
-
Java, SQL, and system integration
-
Modelling tools: UML, ERD
-
Tools: Jira, Confluence, API documentation platforms

Analytical & Communication Skills
-
Ability to simplify and communicate complex systems
-
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
-
Confident in presenting ideas to both technical and business stakeholders
Education & Certifications

Matric (required)
-
Relevant Bachelor’s Degree, Diploma, or recognised qualification
-
Certifications such as CBAP, CCBA, PMP are highly desirable
