Job Description
IQbusiness is hiring experienced Project Managers on a contract basis to lead high-impact projects across multiple industries including Banking/Financial Services, Technology, Telecommunications, and Consulting. We're looking for adaptable, driven professionals who can oversee full project lifecycles—from inception to activation and launch—while effectively managing people, process, and technology.
The Role
As an Intermediate Project Manager, you will be expected to:
Project Initiation

Identify and engage relevant stakeholders

Collaborate with clients (executives and delivery teams) to define objectives

Analyse business value and delivery cadences
-
Plan project and shared resource teams and assess capacity
-
Estimate costs, define budgets, and identify dependencies
-
Analyse and manage program risks (qualitative and quantitative)
-
Define and document project metrics and guidance
Project Execution
-
Coordinate multiple teams across the program
-
Build and maintain stakeholder and team relationships
-
Lead communication, support prioritisation, and guide execution
-
Oversee administration, procurement processes, and release scheduling
-
Track and manage project budgets, risks, and team performance
-
Monitor project metrics and overall performance
Project Close-Out
-
Manage formal project or phase closure
-
Ensure documentation and reporting are completed
-
Finalise procurement and off-board project team members
Requirements
Minimum Experience
-
3+ years of Project Management experience across industries such as Financial Services, Technology, and Consulting

Proven experience with:
-
Financial Services projects: payments, compliance, regulatory initiatives
-
Technology: systems integration, data, business transformation
-
Other areas: PMO functions, scalability, IT systems, finance, and operations

Advantageous: experience managing multiple teams and concurrent projects
Skills & Competencies

Strong budget management and stakeholder engagement skills

Excellent communication, both verbal and written
-
Exposure to Agile, Scrum, or alternative project delivery methodologies

Understanding of business and process analysis

Able to work in a hybrid model (Client site, IQbusiness office, and remote)

Open and flexible to contract opportunities
Education & Certifications

Matric (required)

Relevant qualification in Project or Programme Management
-
Degree or Diploma in Business Management, Computer Science, Business Science, or Engineering (advantageous)

One or more of the following certifications:

PRINCE2 Practitioner

PMP (Project Management Professional)

Certified Scrum Master

SAFe Agilist or Release Train Engineer
