Job Description
IQbusiness is looking for experienced Project and/or Programme Managers to join us in 2025 on a contract basis. This role is ideal for seasoned professionals capable of managing multiple projects across industries such as Banking, Financial Services, Telecommunications, Technology, and Mining — from idea inception to launch. You’ll balance People, Process, and Technology while leading cross-functional teams.
The Role
Key Responsibilities
Programme Initiation

Identify stakeholders and consult broadly (executives, delivery teams, etc.)

Analyse business value and define delivery cadences

Plan and mobilize project and shared resource teams
-
Manage procurement plans and budget estimates
-
Identify dependencies, program risks, and define key program metrics
-
Develop detailed program plans and guidance
Programme Management & Execution
-
Coordinate and align cross-project teams
-
Build strong relationships with stakeholders and delivery teams
-
Communicate program direction and ensure alignment across teams
-
Manage priorities, schedules, releases, and dependencies
-
Oversee procurement administration and program finances
-
Monitor and control risks, team health, and project performance
-
Report on key metrics and overall program progress
Programme Close-Out
-
Close out phases or the entire program formally
-
Finalize and disseminate documentation and reports
-
Complete procurement closure and team off-boarding
Requirements
Minimum Experience
-
5+ years of solid Project Management experience across industries (Banking, Telecoms, Mining, Technology)

Experience managing multiple teams and projects (3+ years preferred)

Exposure to a range of project types:

Financial Services: Payments, card, AML, compliance, optimisation

Telecoms: Infrastructure, fibre, network deployments

Technology: Data projects, integrations, software delivery

Mining & Other: IT systems, scalability, finance, process improvements

Skills & Competencies

Strong budget management and stakeholder engagement skills

Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

Working knowledge of Agile, Scrum, or other delivery methodologies

Exposure to business and process analysis

Ability to work in a hybrid environment (client site, IQbusiness office, and home)
Education & Certifications

Matric (required)

Qualification in Project or Programme Management

Relevant degree or diploma in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (advantageous)

PRINCE2 Practitioner
